CLO Urges FG to Declare State Of Emergency on Erosion in Oba, Commends Senator Umeh

Civil Liberties Organization CLO Anambra State has made a passionate appeal to federal government to expedite actions and intervene urgently the erosion/landslide menace ravaging some parts of dilapidated and deplorable Onitsha -Owerri federal road.

”It will be recall that CLO had on several occasions draw the attention of federal government over pitiable and despicable condition of the road to no avail.

”Due to torrential downpours, the situation has degenerated and deserved urgent and immediate palliative measures by Federal Government.

This is contained in a press statement issued to newsmen tagged “matter of urgent public importance and attention”endorsed by Evangelist Vincent Ezekwueme Chairman and Comrade Chidi Mbah Secretary

”Calls on Senator Ahmed Tinubu administration to direct Permanent Secretary Ministry of Works and MD/CO Federal Roads Maintenance Agency to pay on the spot prompt fact finding and assessment visit to the site in other to see things for themselves, proffer immediate and permanent solution to the pitiable condition of the road.

”It is no exaggeration but existential reality that commuters, motorist,road users, visitors and citizens has been subjected to unprecedented agony, excruciating pains, sufferings, predicament and plights due to despicable state of the road.

”There is no doubt in our mind that urgent rehabilitation of the road will help ameliorate the sufferings of citizens bearing in mind that the road connects six states of the federation.

CLO equally commends distinguished Senator Victor Umeh representing Anambra Central for visiting the site promptly and promised to draw the attention of Senate to the danger posed by erosion/landslide menace ravaging the area and inevitable need for emergency intervention CLO posited.
