Class 98 of St Peter’s Special Science celebrates silver jubilee

The sky was indeed blue at Awka, Anambra State Capital, recently as captains of industries, professors and accomplished men from various walks of life who were Class of ‘98 at St Peter’s Special Science School, Achina in their checkered blue suit, gathered to celebrate their 25 years of graduating from the institution.

The National President of the Old Boys Association, Reverend Fr Evaristus Ibenegbu, in his pep talk, thanked God for the special talents that comprise the 98 set, taking time to narrate how the set’s valuable inputs had helped keep the association afloat.

He thanked the chairman of the set, Engr Leo Chika Ilozumba and Engr Dr Chidiebere Okolo, the current vice president of the group, for being great pillars in the association and enjoined the class to continue in their noble efforts to keep the memories and legacies of St Peter’s Special Science School, Achina alive and well.

“Celebration is as important as work in every human’s life and one should make celebration an essential part of one’s life to be fulfilled,” Fr Evaristus opined.

In his speech, the set chairman, Engr Leo Ilozumba thanked members of his set for being so supportive of the silver jubilee project. He expressed his delight at the success of the silver jubilee celebration adding that the reunion has made him and other members of his set to see many of their members they had not seen for years.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of award of recognition to individuals who have shown exceptional support to the set, which was done with the assistance of the association’s Anambra State chairman, Comrade Chibuike Ogunwa, the National President elect of the association, Engr Emeka Offiah, and the representative for the ‘99 set, Comrade Osita Eze. There was also the cutting of their jubilee cake as well as a dance session by members of the set and their family members in attendance.
