The conference was on traffic management  during Christmas season.

He said that the state government would continue  to support the corps in ensuring road safety and free flow of traffic.

The governor thanked Oyeyemi for efforts in traffic management in Delta  every Christmas season.

“There is no doubt that a lot of work is being done to ensure free flow of traffic through the River Niger Bridge, as lots of travels are being done during the festive season.

“We have always cooperated with FRSC to ensure free flow of traffic.

“The secretary to the state government has already coordinated security agencies to see what they can do to ensure free flow of traffic at the bridge head.

“I have also got a call from my brother, the governor of Anambra State; they are also doing the same thing,” he said.

Okowa disclosed that FRSC had stationed a tow truck at strategic places in the event of breakdown of vehicles on the road.

“I am sure that the SSG will keep his eyes on the ball and continue to monitor progress recorded.

“I thank my brother governor in Anambra for cooperation from their own end.

“It is not a good thing for someone to travel from a very far place only to be stuck in traffic at the head bridge.

“We will continue to do all necessary to keep free flow of traffic,” he assured.

Oyeyemi expressed gratitude to the governor for his administration’s collaboration with the FRSC in its operations in the state in the last six years.

He assured road users of free flow of traffic before, during and after the festive period.

“The resolution of the stakeholders meeting has been fully implemented, part of which is that a tow truck should be by the foot of the bridge, and it has been done.

“Your excellency, I thank you once again for this collaboration which has been running for the past six years.

“I want to assure you that, with the synergy between the state government and the FRSC, nobody will sleep on the road.
