One of the major contenders for the much revered royal throne, EzeOkpoko II of the Oba community, Chief Okwuduba Anyaorah(Ijele Oba) has feted Oba residents distributing over 500 bags of rice to people who may not be privileged to enjoy the Yuletide in good mood given the prevalent harsh economy in the country.

The renowned industrialist, businessman and philanthropist who came from a humble background also encouraged the people to embrace honesty and good works in their life journey looking up to God who is capable of turning one’s fortune from poverty to riches.

Anyaorah advised people to avoid sowing seeds of hatred, envy, and acrimony but rather live their lives in such a way that when they die they would be remembered for their good works which people they left behind can reap.

“Live and let live. Whatever you are or have today is by the grace of God so let no one should boast. Good spouse, responsible children, and being alive by grace.

“To sleep and wake up is by grace. Each day you go out three things await you: You may come back unscathed, or you may end up in the hospital or the morgue.

“A song writer said, you would be remembered by your works and seeds. The song wells up tears in my eyes anytime it is sung. It reminds me that I will certainly leave this world someday. So, I have chosen to be remembered for good works, you can make your own choice. Will you be remembered as a poisonous person, murderer or a good person?

“At birth, there is no difference between the poor and wealthy. My late father was a hunter.I grew up selling bitter leaf with my mother a petty trader at Ochanja market Onitsha but today this me. If God could make me wealthy it could happen to any of you or these toddlers you came with today in the future,” Anyaorah said.

Anyaorah admonished people who wish others evil to change saying that good things come to those who wish others well and rejoice when others are prospering.

In his remarks, Mr Ikechukwu Nwobum (AfananaOba) described Chief Anyaorah as someone who is understanding, compassionate and always ready to help people in need.

” Ijele Oba(Chief Okwuduba Anyaorah) is someone who usually shares largasse during festive seasons so that no one will be left behind even before the issue of EzeOkpoko stool became vacant.He has invested in the lives many Oba sons and daughters.

Chief Anyaorah is the Mr Peter Obi of Oba people. He can read and write, a proven and successful businessman, has record’s of human capital development within and outside Oba community. Ijele Oba is endowed with knowledge and wisdom. Infact, he deserves to be the next Igwe of Oba,” said Nwaobum.
