Some christians who conceive Christianity as idealistic and a bread-and-butter affair have been advised to rather change such mindset and instead to see the Faith from an objective and realistic perspective.

Instead of basking only in the glamorous side of Christianity, the faithful have, without mincing words, been told that Christianity, as a unique Faith, rather demands daily hard work and great patience.
The Bishop on the Niger, the Rt Rev Dr Owen Nwokolo, made the reminder in the 15-minute homily he said today, Wednesday, December 7, 2022, during the Weekly Calvary service at the Episcopal House, Onitsha.
According to the bishop, because Christianity, among other things, demands from believers, daily hard work and great patience, it is wrong for one to always hang on to one’s good works of the previous day.

“Christianity, from all indications, demands hard work and severe patience daily so that you can’t be kind-hearted, righteous and godly yesterday and become bad today and still count yourself as a worthy child of God”, Bishop Nwokolo explained.
To maintain a steady, unflinchingly spiritual growth, the bishop enjoined Christians to always read and internalise the Bible messages every day, adding, “Ensure that you look at the word of God, always mark what the preachers tell you and follow the teachings in daily basis, for we are waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

“Jesus Christ holds the keys of life and death and He is coming back to us. He owes every one of us. He’s the one that is speaking. He’s the one that is coming to us soon with words in the scripture, words of life, telling us what we are, how we are and how he wants us to be.

He said, “I know your work “. So there is nothing that can be hidden from him. Things can be hidden from human beings but not from the Lord.”, said.
