Chinenye/ Revd Ernest 2020: The Union that was meant to be

Twenty- sixth September was a remarkable date in the life and history of Chinenye Egwuchukwu and Earnest Okolo, a day when they took each other to the aisle to say ‘yes I do’,

It was a dream that turned out to be reality after a long awaited periods as the innitial fixed date of 2nd May, 2020 was resheduled to 26th September, 2020 due to widespread of COVID-19 pandemic. It was however on the later date that sister Chinenye Hope Egwuchukwu wedded Revd Ernest Kanayochukwu Okolo at the Cathedral church of St. Paul, Afikpo- Ebonyi state, Nigeria.

The occasion having been presided over by the pontif of the Anglican Diocese of Afikpo, Rt. Rev. Paul Amechi Udogu(JP) and many clergymen began with a church service at about 11:00am. It however came alive when the couple exchanged marital vows as well as tying of the nuptial nut. It also witnessed signing of marriage certificate and finally thanksgiving outing.

The occasion was not short of dignitaries as the Rector, Akanu Ibiam Federal polytechnic unwana, Afikpo, Ven. Dr. Ogbonnia alongside his wife Lady Grace Ibe- Enwo were there live. While the Rector and wife happened to be the father and mother of the day. The Deputy Rector, Engr. Emmanuel Nwangwu was present. Sir and lady Ogbonnaya Okere Okoro who was the chairman of the occasion and other Knights and ladies and Dames of the church were in attendance.

Meanwhile, the parents of the couple- Mr & Mrs. Isaiah Egwuchukwu, and Chief & Mrs. Isaiah Nwanosike Okolo, family members, relatives, friends and well wishers were observed at the reception which followed at the Archbishop Peter Akinola international Afikpo after the service.

The Afikpo Battalion council of Boys and Girls brigade made the day colorful with their ceremonial parade while people of Amanuke Community in Awka North local government area and Amichi in Nnewi South area both of Anambra state witnessed the celebration.
