China has successfully activated it’s HL-2M Tokamak nuclear fusion reactor. Dubbed the ‘artificial sun,’ experts claim it is 10 times hotter than the real deal. China is hoping that the use of the device will solve their “strategic energy needs.”
Moreover, the country is hoping to use it with France’s International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) come 2025.
Experts are hoping that the device can be useful in unlocking “limitless clean power,” an official said, as it taps green energy.
China’s experimental nuclear reactor is allegedly 10 times hotter than the sun’s core, according to scientists.
In a report, we learnt that the device “uses a powerful magnetic field to fuse hot plasma and can reach temperatures of over 150million degrees Celsius (302million degrees Fahrenheit).
The reactor has been completed last year and is situated in the province of Sichuan.
“The development of nuclear fusion energy is not only a way to solve China’s strategic energy needs, but also has great significance for the future sustainable development of China’s energy and national economy.”
China is planning to use the device with the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), France’s very own nuclear fusion research which will be completed in the year 2025.
China is “one of the six countries participating in the project,” wrote the Independent.
Meanwhile, China National Nuclear Corporation chairman Yu Jianfeng explained that the success of the project could lead to greater scientific knowledge about fusion power. Odogwublog.com

China has officially switched its ‘artificial sun’ on for the first time ever. The HL-2M Tokamak reactor is the biggest and most technologically advanced nuclear fusion reactor in the country and they’re claiming it is actually ten times hotter than the sun itself.
