The election of the National Executive Committee of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide was held in Owerri on the 10th of January, 2021 through an open ballot, option A4 system. At the election, Professor George Obiozor, a former Nigerian Ambassador to Cyprus, Israel and the United States of America was returned by overwhelming majority of votes of delegates from across member States, accredited Igbo cultural unions and officials of the apex organization.

The election was preceded by a motion moved by Prof. A.B.C Nwosu and seconded by Senator Ben Obi dissolved the Chief Nnia Nwodo led National Executive Committee. The Chairman of the electoral committee was Chief Gary Igariwey, while Chief Sam Ohuabunwa moderated the election process.

The contestants to the office of the President-General outside the eventual winner, Professor George Obiozor were, Former Secretary-General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Dr. Joe Nworgu, former Vice-president of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Imo State Chapter and Co-Chair of Southeast South-South Professionals, Dr. Chris Asoluka, former President of Aka Ikenga, Chief Goddy Uwazurike, former President of the Imo State Chapter of the apex Igbo sociocultural organization, Prof. Chidi Osuagwu, and former National President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities and former Vice-Chancellor of Imo State University, Owerri, Prof. Ukachukwu Awuzie. This background was laid to clear us on the fact that there is not a single legitimacy problem bogging the leadership of Professor George Obiozor as the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide and that Chief Chidi Ibeh, a former Commissioner for information under Owelle Rochas Okorocha as governor of Imo State and a protege of the current Imo West Senator never featured in the processes, bargains and politics that preceded the 2021 election of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide National Executive Committee. His partner in the disgraceful act of criminal impersonation and alms begging, Okechukwu Isiguzoro whose last known legitimate address was as the National Youth Leader of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide whose tenure elapsed more than five years ago, but who, in apparent lack of any legitimate job continued to hang on and impersonate that office until he found a willing partner in Chidi Ibeh and jumped on the jinxed ship of ignominy to criminally exploit the massive goodwill and long-standing legitimacy of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide for their fraudulent aim of obtaining alms from gullible politicians and mischievous political leaders who might be sponsoring them to tarnish our cherished Igbo heritage.

Typical of fraudsters, the duo of High Chief Chidi Ibeh and Okechukwu Isiguzoro only exist on social media and few conventional media platforms whom they pay little pittance to their correspondents to plant news reports on their medium. You cannot find them in any gathering where issues concerning Igbo development and security are discussed, rather they prefer to crawl from one hotel to the other, sneaking into some politicians in the cover of night to beg for alms, while planting ludicrous news items on softsell mediums to deceive the public about their existence.

Few days ago,. Southeast political stakeholders held another important meeting in Enugu where issues concerning the development of the Southeast was discussed. Governors of three Southeast States were physically present, one deputy governor was present, National Assembly members, first class traditional rulers, the clergy and very critical stakeholders from the Southeast were all present, but neither Isiguzoro nor his partner in alms begging was anywhere to be found.

As a way of fraudulently obtaining the sympathy of the public, rather than any genuine interest in the activities of IPOB or Ndigbo, the duo would always issue statements pretending to be in any form of solidarity with the Indigenous People of Biafra, but we know the precedents of these individuals, especially, as they relate to their previous actions and utterances against anything related to the group. Their pretentious sympathy for IPOB is rather suspicious because some information gotten point to the possibility that the duo and their sponsors are behind the activities of some criminals who have seemingly hijacked the IPOB agitation by killing innocent Igbos, destroying the Southeast economy and sabotaging our development as a people.

Unfortunately the activities of this duo have been sustained by some politicians who sponsor their illegitimacy to spite Ala Igbo and all that we represent as a people and we can only remind these individuals that Ofu onye anaghi esiri oha nri. No matter how powerful you are, no matter how wealthy you are and no matter how smart you may convince yourself of being, you cannot defeat Oha na Eze – the entirety of the people. The good, the bad, the rich, the powerful, the mad, the sane and the philosophical. That is what the sponsors of Chidi Ibeh and his group are trying to do, but time shall tell.

I can promise you that if these individuals behind the fraudulent and traitorous activities of High Chief Chidi Ibeh and Okechukwu Isiguzoro do not desist from funding their ridiculing of Ala Igbo, we shall have no other option but to bring the battle to them. Nothing will be spared in the struggle to liberate Igbo land and make her regain her pride of place in the Nigerian union.
