Chelsea coach Frank Lampard made Chilwell his number one target this summer to bolster his team defensive options ahead of the new Premier League season, with Emerson Palmieri set to depart the club this window.
The blues have made a breakthrough in their bid for Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell, according to reports.
The Chelsea Board had been contemplating on whether they would cough out such huge money to bring a left-back this summer, but it now appears that the Blues chiefs have decided to splash the cash on Chilwell.
The 23-year old is currently recovering from a injury he sustained during the final games of the season, and reports claims that the Englishman has undergone medical checks to establish the condition of the player ahead of the new campaign.
