Chairmanship aspirant considering rural infrastructure,security as priority.

In view of procedures for local government elections in 2021,as announced by the Nasarawa state Independent electoral commission (NASIEC) politicians, especially of the All Progressive Congress(APC) are warming up and indicated interest to run for the available elective positions in their councils.

Among those that have since indicated a strong interest to aspire for the position of chairman of Lafia local government area ,is Barrister Haruna Mohammed.

According to him, the quest for value addition and the advancement of the already existing infrastructure is the focal point on his mind,where agriculture,education ,healthcare and security is topmost being the reasons for his interest to aspire for the local government election when time comes.

He made the disclosure in his law chamber in Lafia on Tuesday , appealing to well meaning citizen of Lafia local government area to joined him in the struggle to further develop ladia,in the interest and benefit of all.

He said” You know we are an agrigarian state and our major trade in Nasarawa state is farming,which Lafia local government area is not left out.This is one of the major factor in my drive to seek election into the council,as chairman.

” What has prevented our people from engaging into farming as it used to be is the issue of insecurity,which over the years and due to the farmers and herders crisis,slot of our people flees their communities,this is another area i earnestly will by the grace of elected will concentrate on.

“I intend to boost local security,by involving all traditional and the various title holders in the rural communities of Lafia in support to the conventional security ,so that our people in the rural area will be at peace and have a sense of safety while on their farm lands without fear of intimidation and provocation from any body” Barrister Haruna said.

He further explained that education and health facilities at the rural areas is in serious decay,lacking teachers and teaching materials, for both pupils of primary and students of secondary levels.

He noted that he will mapped out work plan that renovation and furniture in the schools will be executed without waiting for the state government interventions.

Haruna added that there are streets in the Lafia metropolis that are lacking drainages and good motorable roads,he said these are mainly the areas that provoked his interest to aspire for the council election in order to mitigate the suffering of the people.
