Businessman docked for allegedly shoving man

A  42-year-old businessman, Dennis Ebere, on Thursday appeared in an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for violently shoving a man during an argument.

The police charged Ebere, whose address was not provided with conspiracy and assault.

The Police Prosecutor, ASP Kehinde Ajayi alleged the defendant assaulted Uche Nwaezeigwe by violently pushing him, following a misunderstanding.

Ajayi told the court that the defendant committed the offence with others at large on June 2 at No.2 Modupe Ayoade St., Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos.

The prosecutor said the offence contravened the provisions of sections 172 and 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Chief Magistrate O.A.Ajibade admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100,000 and one surety in like sum.

She adjourned the case until Sept.8 for mention. (NAN)
