Breaking: Archbishop Ibezim elevates 15 to Priests, Deacons in Awka Diocese

The Archbishop Ecclesiastical Province
of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Chibuzo Ibezim will Sunday June 4, 2023 elevate no fewer than 15 clergymen to different ranks for their services in the Lord’s vineyard.

A statement signed by the Diocesan Clerical Synod Secretary — Ven Clement Mgbemena indicated that the selected clergymen will receive their new rank at the 2023 Trinity Ordination of Priests and Deacons which will take place at St. Paul’s church, Umuokpu on Sunday.

As contained in the statement, six (6) deacons will be ordained priests, while nine (9) ordinands are to be made deacons respectively.

Among those to be ordained priests are: Revd Echezona Ifechelobi— St. Faith Awka,Revd Stanley Nweke — St. Lawrence’s church Mbaukwu, Revd Nnamdi Nwokoye — Immanuel church Ukwulu, Revd Maduabuchi Emone — St Andrew’s church Awka, Revd Obiora Ibezim — St Peter’s church Amawbia, and Revd Peter Nwachukwu Ugoagu — St Stephen’s church Mgbakwu.

In the other category, nine ordinands that will be made deacons are: Emmanuel Anaemena, Chinonso Ezeugo, Johnson Okonkwo, John Agbata, Enoch Okeke, Chimaobi Izuakor, Alexander Ezeador, Israel Okoye and Clement Igwe.

According to the release, the retreatant and preacher will be the Archdeacon, Enugwu-Ukwu Archdeaconry and Vicar Immanuel church Enugwu-Ukwu, Ven Chris Ogbodo.

www.odogwublog.com reports that the ordination will be performed after presentation, examination and administration of oaths by the legal officers of the diocese led by the chancellor, Hon Justice Sir Okechukwu Okeke.
