Breaking: Anambra State Govt Launches Operation Keep Our Hospitals Clean

The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Vincent Okplala disclosed the launch of operation keep our hospitals clean by the Anambra State government when he led other top Management of the Ministry for a meeting at General Hospital Onitsha.

Dr Okpala said that the periodic meeting is one of the avenues initiated by the Ministry to interact with all the management and staff of government owned hospitals in the state and explained that it creates an avenue for both the Ministry and staff of all the hospitals to brainstorm on pressing issues affecting them, as well as fashion out modalities to further improve optimal service delivery.


He noted that the operation keep hospitals clean and ensure that all the government hospitals are hygienically certified in all ramifications to conform with the health policy and programme of the Obiano administration, even as he assured that government is working tirelessly to resolve all pressing issues presented by the members of staff of the hospital during the meeting.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Dr Simeon Onyemaechi who doubles as the Executive Secretary, Anambra State Health Insurance Agency urged members of staff of the hospital to double their efforts in terms of efficient service delivery and take ownership of the hospital, to encourage government promote their
welfare.

The Chief Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr. Mercy Ebelechukwu-Anugwu who described the meeting as worthwhile , noting that one of the greatest problems affecting the hospital is lack of manpower and promised that they will ensure that the hospital is always clean as demanded by the State government.

The Head of Hospital Administration in Anambra State, Dr. Richmond Achugbu, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on General hospital, Mrs. Nwamaka Arinze-Okoh and her Medical Supply counterpart, Mrs. Jennifer Onyedikachi were present during the meeting.

Commissioner Okplala alongside officials of the Ministry and some staff members of the hospital later performed the symbolic Operation Keep Our Hospitals Clean, after moving round the hospital to inspect
things for himself.
