Bishop Performs Investiture Of New Knights Of Diocese Of Western Izon

His Lordship, The Rt. Rev’d. Victor Ebipade Okporu, JP, the Diocesan of the Diocese of Western Izon, under the Ecclesiastical Province of Bendel, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) has invested twelve Christians into the knighthood.

The new Knights were admitted into the Order of St. Christopher (KSC) and Blessed Virgin Mary (KSM) along with a Lady of the Knight who was also inducted.

Prior to the formal investiture of the Knights, a two day retreat was organized for the knights nominees, and key speakers drilled the knights nominees on the ethos and practices of the Knights in the Church of Christ as well as what is expected of them in the Diocese.

The guest speaker was The Rt. Rev’d Gabriel Elabor, JP, the Bishop of the Diocese of Esan, who spoke on the theme: Hold the Forth, For I am Coming (Revelation 3:11).

  • Sir Albert N. Nnebocha
  • Sir God bless Ijeoma
  • Sir Kingsley Oki
  • Dame Ebimboere M. Anyankpele
  • Dame Nneka Ijeoma
  • Dame Celestina P. Kekai
  • Dame Esther Oki
  • Dame Roseline Ebiere Atey
  • Dame Funlayefa Apare (who interestingly is the current diocesan Treasurer of the Diocese of Western Izon)
  • Dame Lois Chinenye Ekede
    And the only Lady of the Knight is:
  • Lady Beatrice Oki

It’s worthy of note to mention that this Knighthood Investiture happened to be the maiden edition under the Episcopacy of his Lordship, The Rt Rev’d. Victor Ebipade Okporu, JP, as the Diocesan of the Diocese of Western Izon.

Following the nomination and approval of some persons for knighthood investiture, history was made Sunday 9th March, 2025, at the Cathedral Church of St. Matthew, Patani.
