Bishop Nwokolo Installs Ukaegbu, Achugbu, Okeke, others as Canons and Archdeacons, warns against Heresy

The Anglican Bishop on the Niger, Rt. Rev. Dr. Owen Nwokolo has admonished clerics to shun propagation of heresies in the name of preaching the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ saying that many preachers because of their personal gain teach their congregation doctrines that has no bases in the Holy Bible.

Bishop Nwokolo gave the advice during the Installation cum Collation of six Rev Canons and four Archdeacons at the All Saints Cathedral, Onitsha, Anambra State.

“According to 1Corinthians 11:19 and 2Peter2:1 many preachers have veered off from the doctrines of the Bible to preach man made and satanic doctrines just to pull crowd, get material things or satisfy their belly”.

The prelate urged the newly collated Rev. Canons and Archdeacon’s to endeavor to keep to the liturgy and Bible doctrines which was handed over to them in the Anglican Church as they continue evangelizing their territory preaching the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ saying that God will reward his faithful servants.

“Anyone who works more than he is being paid will someday earn, be rewarded or honored more than he worked for,” said Bishop Nwokolo.

The Rev. Canons newly collated include, Rev Canon, Daniel Uzoma Ukaegbu of St Luke’s Anglican Church,Obosi, Rev. Canon James Achugbu of St Thomas Anglican Church, Azu-Ogbunike, Rev. Canon Daniel Okeke, Rev. Canon Temple Chukwuemeka Nzeh, Rev Canon Arthur Nnolue, Rev Canon Ndubisi Obianagha.

The newly collated Archdeacons include the Education Secretary Diocese on the Niger: Ven. Nwachukwu Uzochukwu Okeke, Ven. Ifeanyi Okpala, Ven. Dr. Samuel Uzodimma and Ven. Albert Ikeokwu.

According to Rev Canon Daniel Ukaegbu who survived death and bullet wounds in 2013 when kidnappers attacked him with one his parishioner, Chief Sir Ambrose Anachuna, “I am grateful to God for his overwhelming grace over my life and ministry. If not God, we shall not reach this stage. God is able to help those who trust in him and will not allow me end in shame. I hope to continue in the calling of God upon my life being a blessing to my generation without looking for personal gains until I reach heaven”.

Moreso, Rev Canon James Achugbu said: Our message, doctrine,belief, faith, stand is centered on the Holy Bible. Anything outside the Bible is not the gospel but heresy. God called me to serve him when I was very young and I have continued with all my heart till now. This new feather added today will help us put much energy to do more”.

Moreover, Ven. Nwachukwu Uzochukwu Okeke said that as a called minister, one was expected to preach the raw word of God. People from this part of the world has a clear covenant with God by the implication of the name they bear. “Some answer Chinenyenwa, Chinedu hence the person is expected to live his or her life according to God’s principles and guidelines. Once you fail in that aspect you are incurring God’s wrath over your life”.

Meanwhile, the Idemili South Local Government Area(ISLGA) Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Secretary, Comrade Mrs Chinyere Ukaegbu after thanking God and Bishop Nwokolo and his wife Elsie for the promotion of her husband Rev Canon Daniel Ukaegbu encouraged wives of priests to always assist their husbands spiritually and physically towards fulfilling their call and ministry no matter how tough the journey becomes.

Dignitaries who felicitated with the newly collated clergy men include Ven Iyke Egbuonu, Ven Daniel Uche, Chief Sir Ambrose Anachuna Ogbuefi Omeogo Nkwelle Ezunaka, Mr Chukwudi Ikeogu, ISLGA Head, Personnel Management (HPM) Olie Anthonia JP, Idemili South NULGE Chairman, Comrade Innocent Edozieuno, Barrister Isiguzo Olua, Barrister Humphrey Udechukwu, President General Oraukwu, Arch. Shedrach Onwuasoanya after eulogizing the dispositions and achievements of the newly collated clergymen as having obtained well deserved promotions, the dignitaries also encouraged them not to relent in preaching the true gospel of Jesus Christ which moulds people’s characters for a better society and for eternity in heaven.
