Beneficiaries of the “1 Youth 2 Skills” plus empowerment programme in Awka North Local Government Area have started receiving funds promised them by Governor Chukwuma Soludo to support their businesses.

Speaking at Achalla, Awka North Local Government Headquarters after receiving bank alerts, some of the beneficiaries, including Mrs Nkechi Menkiti, who was trained in bakery and confectioneries, and received N380, 000, Nkemjika Udegbunam, who was trained in rice farming and processing and received N350, 000, and Ejike Olutum who was also trained in rice farming and processing and also received N350, 000, thanked Governor Soludo for the empowerment initiative.

They promised to make good use of the funds given to them in order to be self-reliant and even employers of labor.

Managing Director of Anambra State Social and Civic Reformation Office, Mr Chuka Nnabuife, was at Achalla to monitor the exercise, and tasked the beneficiaries on fund management.
