Barcelona confirm Samuel Umtiti has recovered from COVID-19
Barcelona, officially stated that its French defender, Samuel Umtiti, had recovered from the emerging Coronavirus, and obtained medical permission to rejoin the training with the Catalan team.
The twenty-sixth player was not unable to join Barcelona’s preparations for the new season, due to his infection with the Coronavirus and injuries in the left knee, and he was also absent from the Catlan club’s confrontation with Bayern Munich in the Champions League for the same reason.
Umtiti was infected on the 30th of August, and although he did not exceed the isolation period determined by the protocol to overcome the effects of the disease, the test proved his safety.
It is scheduled that Umtiti will gradually join Barca’s preparations, although he is not included in Ronald Koeman’s plans in the new season, and the club is looking to loan or sell him.
