ASUU-NAU RELEASES ELECTION TIME TABLE, 2021
ASUU NAU branch elections are scheduled to hold as follows:
Date: Wednesday 14th July, 2021
Time: 9am.
Pursuant to Article 10 of ASUU constitution, the following offices are vacant:
- Chairperson
- Vice Chairperson
- Treasurer
- Secretary
- Internal Auditor
- Financial Secretary
- Welfare Officer
- Investment Secretary
- Assistant Secretary
Eligibility: Pursuant to Article 14, 2b of ASUU Constitution; to be eligible to run as branch officer, a member must:
i. not be on Sabbatical, leave of absence or study leave
ii. not be a student in any university in Nigeria
iii. be a confirmed staff
iv. be an active member of the Union
v. not have been found guilty of any anti-union activities
vi. not have been involved in any form of finance related misconduct or indictment
vii. meet 60% attendance at congress meetings from the date of the last Branch general elections
viii. For the position of the Branch Chairperson or Secretary, the member shall in addition to the above rules must have been a Convener of any Committee(s) of the Union or served in the Branch Executive Committee.
Note:
Nomination forms should be collected from the Electoral Committee Convener at Department of Eductional Foundations, Faculty of Education, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka from Monday, 10th June, 2021 to 20th June, 2021 between 9am and 4pm daily
Deadline for submission of duly completed form is 21st June, 2021.
List of candidates qualified for election will be published on Wednesday 23rd June, 2021.
Any petition on any of the candidates shall be made to the electoral committee on or before 30th June, 2021.
Accreditation will commence from 9am to 11am on Wednesday 14th July, 2021.
Voting and declaration of results will take place between 11am and 2pm in Awka and Nnewi on the same day (14th, July, 2021)
There shall be no issuance of or display of posters, billboards, text messages, emails, handbills or any form of publications for the purpose of this election except those issued by the Branch for that purpose.Comd. Geoffrey Chidi Onyebuchi Convener
