The Association of non indigenes in Anambra State led by its President General Chief Great Ugwuoke, came in their large number at the Dr.Alex Ekwueme Square Awka to receive the wife of the president Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who was on a national assignment to the state to commission the ICT Experience centre at the Federal Polytechnic Oko, unveil the National Community Food Bank Programme for the South east at the old governor’s lodge Amawbia, and to launch a state empowerment project to support 5,000 beneficiaries from all the 21 LGAs of the state who were eventually supported by the president’s wife with one hundred thousand naira each.

Chief Ugwuoke granted a press interview to express his appreciation to the first lady of Nigeria for showing concern for the widows, vulnerable people and the less privileged in the state.

According to the President General, the association invited by the Anambra State government, has a share in the gesture extended by the wife of the president.

He used the forum to commend the federal government and Governor Chukwuma Soludo for their kind gesture toward making the visit of the wife of the president successful.

Chief Ugwuoke used the forum to convey the support and solidarity of the non indigenes in the state to the administration of Governor Soludo.

The group was accompanied by its former president Igwe Amos Nkwuda.
