Assembly Seeks Partnership With DSS To Boost Security In Anambra

The Anambra State House of Assembly, on Thursday solicited security advice and support of the Department of State Services (DSS) for legislators and the state at large.

The Speaker of the House, Mr Uche Okafor made the call on monday when he recieved the new Director of DSS, Anambra State Command, Mr Alex Agada, at his office in Awka.

“DSS officials are one of the best trained security personnel in the country and the citizens have so much confidence in their capabilities.

“Through your intelligence reports and advice, we have been able to avert some security problems in the state.

” Therefore, as legislators and representatives of the people, we will need your continous advice in our affairs in areas of security and social development, “he said

Okafor commended the command for working in synergy with other security agencies and the state government in ensuring the safety of residents and investors.

“We appreciate the support you have been giving to Gov Willie Obiano led administration in terms of security, and as legislators we will give the DSS command the necessary support to enhance your operations in the state, ” he said.

Earlier in his remarks, Agada said his visit was to familiarise himself with the Assembly as the new director of the command.

He promised to deploy his experience and intelligence in the discharge of his duties to compliment the efforts of the present administration in safeguarding the state.
