Pastor in charge of Assemblies of God Student’s fellowship Awka chapter, Pastor Offorkansi Marvelous has encouraged students to be good leaders to their peers by being examplary and truthful.

Delivering a sermon on the topic leadership dynamics , Pastor Offorkansi described a leader as someone who inspires others to follow”.

” A leader is someone who has been given responsibility to oversee”.

He continued: “When you look deeply into the word leadership, you find out that leadership means learning. Nobody is self made, leadership gives you the platform to learn and when you learn, it adds to your value. In leadership, you learn, relearn and unlearn.

“Leadership also means to lean. As a leader, you lean on someone superior to you for effective leadership. In Christian perspective, as a leader you only have to lean on God so he would direct your path of leadership.

“It can also be said that leadership is leading; when God told Moses to lead the children of israel, God was leading him and he in turn was leading the Israelites. As a leader, you must be ready to be led by the holy spirit.

“One of the dynamics of leadership is VISION. According to definition given, vision is a picture or goal in mind one wants to achieve. The Bible says” woe to them whose king is a child “, ” where there’s no vision, the people perish”.

One cannot start anything, expecting a positive result without first setting a vision. ” If anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask the lord who gives liberally”. If you lack vision, don’t be pressurized. Ask God for vision and cast all your cares on him.

The sermon was concluded with the preacher quoting Jeremiah 29: 11″ For I know the thoughts I have for you, thoughts of good and not of evil to give you an expected end”.

Afterwards the praise and offertory was made, followed by the relevant announcements. The new members were also welcomed and attended to. Much more things were done pro and con before dismissal. There was also interactive session on the topic.
