ASBA Guarantees Shoemakers With Disabilities Of Assistance

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Anambra Small Business Agency, ASBA, Sir Clement Chukwuka, declared the agency will assist deaf shoe makers in issuance of shops and provision of tool in the newly commissioned digital shoe factory in Ogbunike.

Sir Chukwuka gave the assurance while exchanging views with the Special Adviser to Governor Willie Obiano on Disability Matters, Barrister Chuks Ezewuzie, during the commissioning of the Digital Leather Factory in Ogbunike.

He explained that shoe makers with disabilities stand to benefit from the newly commissioned facility, as according to him, the digital leather factory is a shared facility funded by the Federal Government and designed to enhance registration, customization and productions of different designs of shoes.

Sir Chukwuka further noted that the cost of production of shoes will  drastically reduce, due to enhanced mass production capacity of the machines, resulting in efficient and timely supplies as demand increases.

Responding, Barrister Ezewuzie expressed appreciation with the inclusive and empowerment policies of the Obiano administration for entrepreneurs with disabilities.

He called on shoe makers with disabilities to form their own Co-operative societies and take advantage of the facilities made available by the Governor through ASBA for Ndi Anambra with disabilities.

Vice President, Professor Osibanjo, alongside Governor Obiano, commissioned the Digital Shoe Factory built by Anambra State Government and equipped by the Federal Government at Ogbunike, Oyi Local Government Area.
