Archbishop Ibezim praises Rev Prince Chukwudum, Amawbia town for Church of Resurrection New Building

The Archbishop Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger, and Bishop, Anglican diocese of Awka, Most Reverend Alexander Alexander Chibuzo Ibezim PhD has praised the Parish Priest, Anglican Church of Resurrection, Amawbia, Prince Chiemeka Chukwudum for mobilizing the people of God in Amawbia to build a magnificent Church building for God.

Archbishop Ibezim who made the commendation at the dedication of the new Church building, Thursday, said the giant strides by Rev Prince in the service of God is worthy of emulation by all Church workers.

He however warned Church workers to be mindful of distraction from the world by being focused on Jesus Christ always, pointing out that there are so many distractions in the society men of God should not allow themselves to be yoked in.

He further lauded the people of Ngene Village Amawbia over the completion of the new Church of Resurrection building in their area for worship of God.

He added that completion of the New Church building is a mark that the community has good regards for the things of God, even as he assured them that God has used the Church to better their lives.

The Anglican Prelate urged them to devote themselves to the service of God.

Archbishop Ibezim said that the new church of Resurrection building was dedicated to God and not to man, adding that it is the responsibility of man to take care of the Church and make it beautiful in all ramifications.

Archbishop Ibezim who at the dedication service, drew his sermon from Matthew chapter 16, said that the Church of Resurrection was small but has grown to an enviable height, courtesy of the new building. He said, “the people must understand who they built the Church for as the Church must not be beautiful outside and dirty inside.”

According to him, “if the Church is beautiful and the worshippers are not beautiful, then they will not make heaven. If you build a beautiful Church outside, the inside must be Holy, if it is not Holy, you will need to make the inside Holy to match the beauty of the outside.”

He charged the people to build a personal relationship with God to make the Church Holy.

Speaking at the occasion, the Archdeacon of Amawbia Archdeaconry, Venerable Chris Ogbodo noted that the expansion of the Church is a good thing, adding that the expansion is a point to mark the expansion of God’s Gospel.

Ven Ogbodo urged the parishioners to live up to the expectations to have glorious worship, even as he advised the worshippers that as the Church is beautified, the soul should follow suit to enable them make heaven.

In an interview, the Parish Priest, Anglican Church of Resurrection Amawbia Rev Prince Chiemeka Chukwudum while appreciating God for being with him at the Church since 2012, said that his hope is always to take the congregation that worship in the Church of Resurrection Parish to heaven.

Rev Prince Chukwudum who said that the construction of the Church building started in 2014, added that the Church has been beautified, the next target is to also make the members beautiful by channeling their life to serve God Almighty.

Climax of the event was the dedication of the alter by Archbishop Alexander Chibuzo Ibezim.

Among the dignitaries and guests that graced the dedication of Church of Resurrection new building was the Executive Governor of Anambra state Chief Willie Obiano, represented by the State Head of Service, Bar. Harry Udu; the Principal Secretary to the Governor, Mr Willie Nwokoye among others.
