Dr Boniface Bartholomew Agbala, a veteran Medical Doctor based in Onitsha who also doubled as Chairman of Idemili Local Government Leaders of Thought, a Think Tank Group formed to develop the two local government Idemili North and South that made up Idemili has described the three verdicts as unfortunate and a big drawback to the nation quest to get our electoral process right and suggested for an urgent restructuring of the country, convention of the constitutional conference, rejection of the presidential system of government, insisting that it is expensive and prone to corruption other measures he said that will rescue the country are the introduction of true federalism where all federal units will be independent and centre made less attractive, fashioning out a model political system that will not be expensive and prone to corruption that will be acceptable to all.

Dr, Agbala who spoke to newsmen on the Governorship election verdict in his clinic at Awka road, Inland Town Onitsha yesterday also noted that the implication of these judgments will make most electorates lose faith in the nation’s judiciary as well as give credence to the much-held belief among ordinary Nigerian electorates that their votes don’t count in this country. Just as he added that the judiciary must sit up to restore their image which is daily eroding among Nigerians.

Said he, “The implications of these judgments are questioning the integrity of our nation’s judiciary, making it look as if votes of Nigeria electorates don’t matter again, it is akin to removing the franchise from electorates and vesting it on the hand of one, two or more judges as may be the case, my brother it is unfortunate and a big drawback on our democracy”.
