The Commissioner for Youths, Hon. Patrick Agha Mba, weekend, during the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, local Government Congress, said that the Congress was hitch free even as he described Governor Charles Soludo as a youth friendly Governor who is doing a lot of work in human capital development.

His words, “I thank the governor for being youth friendly and I call him talk and do governor. He made a lot of promises to Ndi Anambra, taking the state to the next level. The governor is so passionate about Ndi Anambra, we are making progress.

On the one man two skills initiative he said that, “The first four months before the governor came on board, insecurity was at high level, and also insurgency, but today, I thank him immensely for his commitment on security. People are coming in now, people can walk about, I can have my programmes at Ihiala, Ekwusigo, Nnewi South, and other places.

“With this programme we target I30 youths annually in private sector job. This is what the governor promised Ndi Anambra. There are two sections of the one man two skills initiative. One with four months and the other for six months. We have finished training the ones on six months while the ones on four months are ongoing. We tried to start up with 5,000 youths, then moving up, that 5,000, using apprenticeship model.

“But the youths of nowadays want quick money, that is the reason the Governor wants to bring it back and amplify it using that model of apprenticeship with one year mentoring which after that they can train others. Having recycling effect, they can have access to loans that might come from the government. That’s what we are trying to create, a system that will be inclusive,” he explained.

”It will take somebody that understands the youth programme, who knows the terrain. I have done a lot of programmes and projects when I was the council chairman and President of Anambra State Association of Town Union, (ASATU)Youth Wing. I want to use this to make the Governor achieve his target, ” the Commissioner stated further.

You can stay from morning till night you will not see anybody coming from Awka but at the end of the day, the list will be out, using top bottom approach but today, the governor came especially for those who are helpless. They need the solution, changing the narrative, bridging the gaps.

”This is the first time the Government is taking the bull by the horn, bringing politics to the people, to the grassroot, giving them absolute ownership to man the affairs of politics.

On his role towards youth empowered he said that, “I see my opportunity as a call, whatever I do, I see it as a time to serve God. That’s why in any of my programmes, people will be rejoicing as it is said that when the righteous is in power the people rejoice.

This one you will be in your office and receive everything you want.
