ANSACA to Hold Free HIV Testing and Health Outreach in Awka Motor Parks on July 11

Residents of Awka have been encouraged to take advantage of a free HIV testing and community health outreach programme scheduled for July 11 at Unizik Temp sites Bus Parks in the city.

According to ANSACA, the programme will begin at 8:00 a.m. and continue throughout the day. Participants will have access to a range of free medical services, including free HIV testing, Malaria, Hepatitis, free counselling and support, free blood pressure checks, free chest X-rays, health education and sensitization as well as linkage to treatment and care for individuals requiring follow-up services.

ANSACA emphasized that knowing one’s HIV status is a critical step toward prevention, timely treatment and improved health outcomes, noting that early testing helps reduce the spread of HIV and supports broader efforts to eliminate the disease in Anambra State.

The agency called on residents, transport workers, traders and commuters in Awka to participate in the outreach and take advantage of the free services.

The outreach forms part of ANSACA’s ongoing efforts to strengthen public health awareness and expand access to HIV prevention and care services across Anambra State.
