A business guru and philanthropist, Chief Emeka Ojukwu has vowed that those behind the demolition of his perimeter fence he erected about two months ago in his village Umuakporom Ubahu Okija, Ihiala Local Government Area, Anambra State, would not go scot-free

Making the vow he stated that, “Law of karma will definitely catch up with those behind the demolition of some portions of the perimeter fence I erected about two months ago at my village last Friday at about 11pm in a bid for the perpetrators to hide their faces from being identified.

“It was on a tip-off that I heard my land at Umuakporom Ubahu Okija has been encroached upon last Friday between 10pm and 11pm by a yet to be identified land encroachers which prompted me to rush to the scene on Saturday.

” On arrival to ascertain the extent of demolition by the yet to be identified land grabbers, I discovered that there were two portions that were demolished from the perimeter fence that cost me millions of naira to be erected.

“Before this incident, I have been receiving threats from three people who are not from Umuakporom village where I come from but they are from Umuezedam Ubahu Okija village who procured landed property in the area.

I have made entry at Okija police station and I can recall that earlier, one of those I suspect asked me to sell the land to him and I refused because I have no reason to sell my inheritance landed property.

“My refusal, I believe may have triggered off the forceful bid to grab it by fire by force. Those who perpetrated the evil act may claim to be searching for access road. We pray they will come out from their shells to tell the world if looking for access way to their land is done by land encroachment on another person’s property.

“I erected the perimeter fence about two months ago and just last Friday, in the wee hours, about 10pm to 11pm, some unidentified land encroachers did this demolition. If what they are doing is genuine, what stops them from doing it in broad daylight?, he queried

“Though I have lodged the complaint at the Okija police station, I will take further action to seek justice against the perpetrators to serve as deterrent to future encroachers,” he further stated.
