Anambra SWAN commiserates with national president over demise of father

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Anambra Chapter, has condoled with Isaiah Benjamin, the national president of the association, over the death of his father, Pa. Isaiah Israel. Pa Israel died on Monday morning in his country home, Bassa Local Government Area of Kogi State, at the age of 92. The Anambra Chapter, in a condolence message signed by Anthony Oji, the Chairman, said it was painted by the news of the passing of the nonagenarian at a time the national president was on a national assignment in Asaba, Delta State, at the ongoing National Youth Games.

The Statement read in part, “SWAN Anambra Chapter, commiserates and stand with you and members of the Isaiah family as you pass through this trying time. “Of more significance is that you lost your father at a time when you were in a national assignment, coordinating affairs of sports journalists covering the 7th National Youth Games. “We pray God to console and grant you and members of the larger Isaiah family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” it said.

The chapter prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased. Pa Isaiah Israel is survived by his wife, seven children, brothers, sisters, grandchildren and great grandchild.
