Anambra: Police Nab Two Suspects For Unlawful Confinement, Assault On Three Children

Police operatives attached to 3-3 Police Station, Nkwelle Ezunaka have arrested two suspects for alleged deprivation of liberty and assault on three children whose parents are yet unknown.

A release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Police Command, Haruna Mohammed said that the suspect Rejoice Raymond aged thirty-nine years of Akunwanta Mbamalu Street, Federal Housing Estate 3-3 Area, Anambra State and Mrs. Chidi Felicia Nwafor aged eighty years of same address allegedly confined three children two boys and a girl inside different rooms at NO.13 Akunwanta Mbamalu Street ,Federal Housing Estate 3-3 Nkwelle Ezunaka  and subjected them into physical and emotional torture without feeding and inflicted several wounds on their body leaving them unconscious.

According to the release, the scene was visited by the DPO 3-3, CSP Abdu Bawa where gory sights of badly battered victims, one with a broken arm were found in the pool of their blood and whose parents were neither seen nor known.

It stated that meanwhile, the children were rescued and rushed to the hospital for medical attention and preliminary Investigation further revealed some fetish substances, blood stained canes, concoctions and other incriminating items were recovered inside the rooms and registered as exhibits.

The release said that the Commissioner of Police CP Monday Bala Kuryas, has ordered  discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding the case after which suspects would be brought to justice.
