Anambra Police Nab Couple With Stolen Child

The Anambra state Police Command has paraded suspected child stealing couple.


The couple, Mr Ben and Mrs Elizabeth
Nwobu were arrested by officials of the Ogidi Divisional Police Headquarters in collaboration with the Nkpor Vigilante.


The couple was allegedly caught with a two year old boy who they initially claimed to be their biological son but further investigation revealed that they stole the child.


Addressing the press, the PPRO, Anambra state Police Command, SP Haruna Mohammed, advised Ndi Anambra to be wary of the rising cases of missing children in the state been pepertrated by child stealing syndicate.


He described child stealing as a crime against humanity and warned that anyone caught committing the crime would face the full wrath of the law.

SP Mohammed advised people who are in need of adopting children to go through the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs to legalize the procedure.


In an interview, the couple Mr and Mrs Nwobu, claimed that they adopted the child after seventeen years of childlessness.


They, however, admitted that they did not follow the legal process of adoption.
