Anambra NUJ Chapter Pays Familiarization Visit To NIS, NSCDC Anambra State Command

The Comptroller of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Anambra State Command, Mrs Ngozi Odikpo, and the state commandant of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp, NSCDC, Commandant Everistus Obiyo have ascertained maximum corporation between the paramilitary agencies and press for enhanced service delivery.

They gave the assurance when the newly elected executive members the Nigerian Union of Journalists NUJ, Anambra State Chapter, led by Dr. Odogwu Emeka Odogwu paid them a familiarization visit at their offices in Awka.

Mrs. Odikpo congratulated the new executive and assured of more robust relationship with NUJ, noting that they play critical role in moulding the society.

She encouraged Nigerian citizens to always visit the constantly updated website of the Nigerian Immigration service in order to be acquainted with all its activities and facilities.

On the issuance of passport, Mrs. Odikpo said that there are changes in the passport issuance process and that with the introduction of ‘Enhanced Electronic Passport’ it would improve passport application process for Nigerians.

On his part, Commandant Obiyo who congratulated the new executive for their victory, emphasized on the pivotal roles the press play in information dissemination, stating that the relationship between the press and the Corp has been cordial.

He urged the new executive to carry along those who lost during the election in order to project the good image of the union.

Earlier in his remark, Dr. Odogwu welcomed the new comptroller of Nigerian Immigration Service in Anambra State, and Civil Defence Corp, pledging that the union would continue to partner them and discharge their duties professionally. UPSOT

In a vote thanks, the Auditor, Comrade, Gloria Ilonya, and the treasurer, Comrade Ogemdi Ozoemena, thanked the paramilitary agencies for receiving them and assured to work with the agencies to achieve their mandates.

Other members of the new excos present were, the secretary, Comrade Aloysius Ofordile; Assistant Secretary Comrade Okechukwu Onuegbu and Financial Treasurer, Comrade John Ndu.
