Anambra Monarch Empowers His Community With Cars, Motorcycles, Employment

In his bid to better the living condition of the down trodden in his Awkuzu community, Oyi Local Government Area, Anambra State, the newly crowned traditional ruler, Igwe Chibuike Okafor, who is the Ezeaganama 111, has reportedly empowered about 50 indigent people with cars, motorcycles, employment, cash, and sent few to overseas.

The monarch made this disclosure to newsmen Wednesday, in his palace, while expressing his resolve to assist the poor in the community adding that he also paid hospital bills of those who could not afford to off set their bills.

“I did all these empowerments prior to my being installed the monarch of the community about nine days ago, and if I can assist the poor when I was not crowned, now that I have been crowned, there will be less poverty in my community.

On his reaction to Igwe Prof. who the State Government issued with certificate of recognition, he said that, “I wear the cap of Awkuzu community. Five things are involve in the installation of a monarch and I have completed four, it remains one and it is presentation of certificate of recognition to me by the State Government.

“It is because of Igweship crisis that the community has been in disarray for about two decades, but with my installation few days ago, peace has been restored .

“Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo is a nice person and we voted for APGA during the election just because of him. He should fix the roads for us, there is improvement now on power supply. Scholarship should be awarded to indigent students and water provided, even if people who dug boreholes own their own expenditure,” he stated.

“Any recognition traditional ruler should assist the unemployed youths to avoid them being involve in criminal activities by empowerment or creating enabling environment for them.

“My Igweship is not in contention as it is inherited in Aganama family. I don’t have opposition unless one brings out himself and say that he is the opposition, only then will I show him the stuff I am made of.

Recall that Igwe Prof. Charles Anikweze, told newsmen while reacting to the installation of Okafor that, “he is an impostor who should be disregarded as his alleged installation is illegal. I am still the Igwe of Awkuzu and I have the certificate of recognition.

“I see him and others as impostors and will discuss about them with time to know how to cut their tail,” even as he admitted that there are pending litigations in court on Igweship tuzzle and others.
