Anambra Ministry of Basic Education Releases Approved Timetable For The Completion Of 2019/2020 Academic Session

ANAMBRA STATE MINISTRY OF BASIC EDUCATION

His Excellency Chief Dr Willie Obiano and the members of the Executive Council have approved the gradual resumption of schools in the state. To this end, the Ministry of Basic Education hereby releases the approved timetable for the completion of 2019/2020 Academic session, as well as the schedule for the State Examinations.

The 3rd term is quite short and we expect schools to make maximum use of the time. We had continued to teach our children at home through various e-platforms including the Anambra State Teaching on Air. These various platforms shall be continued as we do a phased re-opening of schools and watch the health implication.

We enjoin parents to provide hand sanitizers and face masks for children.

Please note that:
  • Teaching on Air still continues. There may be change in the timetable and you will be advised accordingly.
  • Schools are advised to continue with their online teaching.
  • Principals/ Head Teachers should also ensure that schools observe thirty minutes uninterrupted sustained silent reading on World Literacy Day as the Hon. Commissioner and team might pay a surprise visit to schools.
  • All approved extra- curricular activities in schools are suspended.
