Anambra Market embarks on operation flush out expired, adulterated, fake goods in the market

  Worried by the bad image the existence of expired, adulterated and fake goods always sold in Nkpor main market idemili North LGA Anambra State is giving the market which has resulted in low patronages by customers as most of them perceives the market as a place where substandard and all manners of fake goods are sold without molestation, the executive of the market has set up a high powered taskforce saddled with a mandate to move around the market, search every store, dictate any substandard goods, ceased them for the executive of the market to flush them out by destroying them.

Disclosing this to newsmen in his office inside the market last Tuesday, Chief Paul Okafor, the Chairman of the market noted that the problem which has been badly affecting sales in the market had really contributed to their recent poor sales as most of customers believed that the market is now a place where substandard and fake goods are sold without molestation adding that they are embarking on the exercise to restore confidence of customers to the market.
While emphasizing that the executive of the market is so committed to restore the integrity of the market and enthrones zero tolerance to substandard, fake and adulterated products, he assured customers of the market that the committee will do a clean job in order to restore their confidence on them telling customers that enough is enough.

Explaining the market executive intention on the exercise, he stated that the committee mandate will be to go into every store in various lines of the market namely cosmetics, provisions, drugs, wine, drinks etc. Search and inspect them, dictate, expired, adulterated, fake goods etc, ceased them, bring them to the market executive office for all the goods to be burnt and flush out of the market.

Stating again that his executive is embarking on this to ensure that goods bought from the market are genuine, he appealed to traders of the market to cooperate with the taskforce as any trader caught obstructing the smooth working of the task force will have his store ceased and send out of the market just as he also appealed to customers who after the exercise ignorantly buys expired, adulterated, fake goods and later on dictate them to feel free to bring them to the market executive office for the executive to force whoever sold the product to them to refund them their money.

On Gov. Soludo market policies and recent introduction of security outfit “udo ga achi”, he commended him on his friendly market policies in the state noting that this has promoted a peaceful synergy between traders in all markets in the state and the state government even as lauded efforts of Chief Evaristus Uba Gov. Soludo Senior special assistant on markets in ensuring peaceful cohesion in all markets in the state.

Speaking specifically on the new security outfit, udo ga achi, he described it as the greatest thing that Gov. Soludo has done so far stressing that the outfit activites has helped to drastically reduce insecurity for everywhere in the state to be calm and peaceful. He added that the security outfit has addressed the problem of impunities of fake native doctors which was the main reason that are leading many young youths to all manners of violent crimes like kidnappings, killings of human beings etc and urged him to extend it to Christian pastors with bogus claims of uncommon miracles.
