Mr. Valentine Ozigbo

Valentine Ozigbo, a gubernatorial aspirant in Anambra State, has declared that the time for the restoration of Anambra’s greatness has come as he made a case for his candidacy based on his wide experience and exposure in business and leadership.

Mr Ozigbo made the assertion on Monday, February 1, 2021, when he visited Anaocha constituency as part of his ongoing tour of the 30 constituencies in the state.

While speaking at the event that was hosted at the residence of Chief Onyeanwuna Ezeani in Agulu, Ozigbo emphasized that the people of Anambra should not repeat the recent past mistakes, stressing that they must insist on character and competence as against nepotism and decisions which are driven by sentiments.

Ozigbo, who is running for governorship on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), said Anambra needs a governor who can mobilize manpower and resources needed to rapidly develop the state.

“We have lost ground on our contemporaries in terms of sustainable development goals and the time for restoration is now,” Ozigbo declared.

“We are a state blessed with numerous businessmen. To create an enabling environment, we must fix our port system. We should look to exploring the natural gas potentials of Anambra State. I have rich experience in the power sector, and we all know that power is key to the industrialization of Anambra State.

“I have experience in hospitality, banking, finance, administration, sports, entertainment, agriculture, oil and gas, and power. All these are key sectors that cumulatively reflect what we lack as a people.

“I bring a rare combination of a multi-disciplinary and multi-dimensional experience and exposure in leadership, and I believe I am highly equipped for the role of governor. I present myself for the leadership of Anambra State to bring our lofty dreams to life,” Ozigbo added.

Ozigbo, who is the immediate past President and Group CEO of Transcorp Plc, went on to appreciate the people of Anaocha for their staunch support since the inception of the #KaAnambraChawapu project.
