Anambra Govt Extends 2019/2020 Academic Calendar By Two Weeks

The Anambra State Ministry of Basic Education has extended the third term for 2019/2020 academic calendar by two weeks to allow for complete of NECO and other National Examinations within third term period.

The third term will now end in November 12th instead of October 23rd, 2020.

A release signed by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Basic Education Mr. Nwabueze Nwankwo on behalf of the commissioner, Professor Kate Omenugha, said that details of 2020/2021 academic calendar would be released soon.

It said that schools at flood affected areas are to proceed on recess form 5th October 2020 until the situation improves.

The release implores affected students and pupils to make effective use of the teaching on-Air programme as Radio sets will be distributed to those affected areas for optimal use.

Affected schools that have students involved in the NECO examination have been assigned to various unaffected schools for the examination.
