Anambra Governorship Poll Derivation Of Pride To Ndi Anambra, Nigerians – Emecheta

The conclusion of last Saturday’s Anambra governorship election has been characterized as a source of pride for Ndi Anambra, Ndigbo and Nigerians across the world.

Speaking in Awka, the National Chairman of Anambra for Soludo, Chief Jude Emecheta said the victory of APGA and emergence of Professor Chukwuma Soludo as the Governor-elect has once again shown the State as the light of the nation and pacesetter in socio- political affairs of the country.

Paul Ezeoke reports that Chief Emecheta said Ndi Anambra have once again demonstrated the spirit of people with strong collective will; who are resolute in taking their destiny in their hands and noted that the election was glaringly transparent, credible and devoid of violence.

He noted that Ndi Anambra always go for the best in their political decisions and pointed out that among the governorship candidates, Professor Soludo stands shoulder high in qualification for the position.

Chief Emecheta expressed confidence that the Governor-elect would distinguish himself in governance as according to him, Professor Soludo has the requisite experience, global exposure and connections to achieve the desired result, as well as being very much aware of high expectations of the people.

He explained that with strong foundation laid by APGA governments over the years, Professor Soludo would take transformation of the State to the next level.

Also speaking, the National Patron of Anambra Demand for Soludo, Chief Henry Igboeli said the outcome of the election has brought a new dawn to the State and would entrench tenets of good governance that would accelerate sustainable development and widen scope of opportunities across the State.

Chief Igboeli noted that through their votes, people of the State made a bold statement that they have unity of purpose and showed in clear terms that power belongs to the people and not to an individual or group.

He called on the political class to look beyond party sentiments and join in the mass movement towards elevating the State to a pride of place, stressing that the collective welfare of Anambra people and future of the State should be placed above every other consideration.
