Anambra Election: Community Chairman Stations Free Buses For Voters, Urges For Active Participation

The Chairman of Umuchu Improvement Union, U I U, Onitsha Branch, Sir Chinedu Ezeuka today 7th Nov. stationed two free buses at Umuchu Town Hall and St Jude Catholic Church, both in Fegge to convey members who are to vote in Umuchu Aguata Local Government Area, Anambra State as their voting location.

Speaking at Umuchu Town Hall in Fegge, Onitsha, Ezeuka stated “This election is very important to us, it is very important to every Onye Anambra and everybody should participate actively, apart from that, it is a civic right to vote because if we vote, we can be able to produce a good government.

“It is all these that motivated us to render assistance, Umuchu as a community, most of us are here for one business or the other, as it is, some people registered in Umuchu, as for this election and how the country is, not everybody can finance himself/herself for transportation to Umuchu, so, it will hinder so many people, they will not be able to perform their civic rights.

“So as a community, we have to come in, through the help of our amiable Aguata Local Government Mayor, Hon Chibueze Oforbuike, we say let us put something on ground to ensure that everybody participated”, He added that those vehicles would leave by 4pm today and return on Sunday morning after the election.

Ezeuka also encouraged every other person in the state to ensure active participation on the election day so as to ensure the right person is voted for.

“Without mincing words, in Onitsha South for instance, the governor has performed credibly and I urge everyone to vote him so that he will complete his tenure, because what are on ground have assured us that he will do more in future.

“He constructed Niger Street, Ziks Avenue, Miss Elems, Port Harcourt Road, we were born and bred in Fegge, no government has done as this present government in Anambra State and this our Onitsha South. Look at the general hospital, bringing healthcare closer to the people. Last time ASHIA was launched and cards were presented to the registered people free of charge.

“When we were growing, Fegge used to be one of the dirtiest place, people live with pigs, now Fegge is as neat as”. He also pointed out that Onitsha South youths are also beneficiaries of one youth two skills.

Ezeuka who is one year and some months in office disclosed that he has attracted a borehole which is for the general public. He mentioned that it was dug by one of the illustrious son of Umuchu, Uchenna Udegbe, noting that since after the commissioning of the borehole that people living around have been testifying of the project.

He also disclosed “Another project is to put up a bungalow behind the Town Hall main building to help augment the fund for the running of the union.

The Chairman also appealed for the tarring of Patterson Street fegge, saying that they will appreciate the governor if he tare the road in his second tenure

A member of the executives, Okezie Clement Chibueze in his contribution commended the Chairman, Ezeuka, for his tireless effort for the good of the union.
