Anambra Deputy Governor Visits Erosion Site threatening Iyienu Mission Hospital

The Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Onyekachukwu lbezim has visited the erosion site ravaging Iyi-Enu Mission Hospital, Ogidi in Idemili North Local Government Area.

The Deputy Governor was recieved on arrival by Idemili North Council Transition Chairman, Chief Chuksbrown Igboañua with some Councilors.

Dr. Ibezim expressed shock at the level of devastation being unleashed at the site with huge regret at the visible threat of the menace to the famous Iyi-Enu Mission Hospital.

The Deputy Governor frowned at the activities of those who have established unauthorized quarry site where stones are being harvested thus leading to the emergence of the erosion.

The Deputy Governor therefore gave an instant order for all forms of excavation to stop forthwith at the site and that defaulters will face the full wrath of the law.

The Hospital Administrator, Reverend Canon Tochukwu Okwuchukwu briefed the Deputy Governor of the huge challenge the Hospital management and even the Diocese on the Niger is facing handling the menace, noting that one of the students’ hostel is currently under serious threat.

Dr. Ibezim also said that by virtue of the magnitude of the devastation, government will need counterpart funding approach to address the issue and promised sending experts from line Ministry, department and agency to take a critical assessment of the site.

The Council Chairman, Hon. ChuksBrown Igboañua appreciated the Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo led administration in Anambra State for the continued attention to issues concerning Idemili North in particular and Anambra State in general as he pledged total loyalty and support from Ndi Idemili North.
