The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP, Mr. Adeyemi Adeoye, Wednesday, at Force Headquarters, Awka, briefed the media on killed kidnappers, recovered vehicles, guns, among others from criminals who have been terrorising residents of the State.

According to him two killed kidnappers abducted a woman at Abatete, Idemili North Local Government Area but luck ran out on them when they exchanged fire with the police and Ichida Local Vigilante group and on the process two of them were gunned down and their vehicles recovered.

Among items recovered from them included, one Ak47 rifle, two pump action guns, two AK47 magazines, 32 live ammunition and one Highlander Jeep.

Preliminary investigation revealed that they were eight-man kidnap gang that drove on two vehicles, Highlander Jeep and a whole Lexus 350.

In a related development he stated that security operatives attached to Forwarding Operating Base, FOB, while on patrol around Uga/Ezinifite expressway, wanted to stop two vehicles that drove suspiciously and the occupants started shooting sporadically to escape police screening and the policemen replied them and gunned down two, recovered one of their vehicles, two automatic pump action guns, 11 live cartridges, and a bag containing one walkie-talkie, one cell phone, incriminating items while others escaped with other vehicles.

The CP vowed never to relent in his effort to make the State a livable place even as he reiterated that his men were on surveillance all days.

He said he was not begging the criminals to leave the state until they meet their Waterloo adding that he is familiar with the State terrain.
