Senator Victor Umeh Campaign Organization has reacted on the media report that his opponent in Saturday’s senatorial election for Anambra Central, Mrs. Uche Ekwunife, had been declared winner of the poll, saying the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had not declared the result.

Director General of the organization, Prince Emeka Udodeme said in a statement Monday that collation of result for the area was still ongoing, adding that it was erroneous to announce the PDP candidate as winner of the election in the district.

“We have information of electoral violence in Obosi and Abatete in Idemili North LGA, where no results were generated for both the Senate and House of Representative Elections.

“There are other reports of fraudulent manual accreditation of voters in Awka North, Awka South, Anaocha LGAs and other places within Anambra Central Senatorial District, against the guideline that there shall be no manual accreditation.

“The results from Awka South LGA are yet to be successfully reconciled by INEC.

“We call on our supporters to remain calm and law abiding while we await the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to make official announcement on these anomalies.”
