“Normally we have our meetings two times in a year, during Nwafor festival and in December, but in this case, it is not a routine meeting but a special occasion. Okoye, our host, called Igirigi by his admirers, in his usual manner, decided to fete us.

“He is a jolly good fellow and philanthropist who enjoys feting people and this association binds us together for things of mutual interest, helps us to propagate law and order in Ogidi community. We also fashion out issues in the association and ways of solving them,” he disclosed.

On the Nwafor festival he said that it was an annual festival of the Ogidi people explaining that, “We use it to rest after farming season, everybody both at home and in Diaspora celebrates it. It is one of the festivals Ogidi is known for”, he further explained.

“Our prayer is that God will continue to guide, protect and give him the strength with which to take APGA to the next level. “He is a man of the people,” if I am to quote the late literally icon, Prof. Chinua Achebe,” he affirmed.
