Anambra @ 30: CLO Commends Founding Fathers,Calls For Concerted Efforts
This was contained in a press statement issued to newsmen tagged There Is Hope endorsed by Comrades Vincent Ezekwueme and Chidi Mbah Chairman and Secretary respectively.
Civil Liberties Organisation CLO Anambra State extol and lauds the founding fathers of new Anambra state for their patriotic and unique wisdom for championing,agitating and advocating for creating of new Anambra,which materialised on 27th 1991 when President Ibrahim Babangida created Anambra state along side other states.
Anambrarians should eternally remain grateful to Chief Dim Emeka Ojukwu,Dr Alex Ekwueme,Professor Ben Nwabueze, Dr Pius Ezeife, Prince Arthur Nwankwo and others for numerous sacrifices they made,still making toward not only for creating Anambra, but also for greater and better Anambra state.
Although the state has made tremendous progress,we are not were we are supposed to be,where we are now is below expectations of our founding fathers and citizenry,hence concerted efforts and sacrifices with great effect needed to be made,in order to improve and make our good better,and our better best.
CLO commend the first executive governor of Anambra state Dr. Pius Ezeife for having laid the foundation for new Anambra and introduction of Think Home Philosophy that necessitates accelerated socioeconomic development of Anambra state.
We thanks former governors Chris Ngige,and Peter Obi for handing over schools to missionaries and his Sustainable Development Goals that guaranteed rapid development of all sectors of the state economy and the current government relentless efforts to sustain it.
As our State is celebrating her 30th anniversary of her creation, few months to Anambra Nov .6th governorship ,we appeal most passionately to President Buhari to ensure free,fair,credible and general acceptable election as anniversary gift to people of Anambra state as well as put machinery in motion towards creating new states for the southeast to keep it at par with other zones,which is also in tandem with recommendation of 2014 National Conference.
CLO pleaded with Anambrarians and residents to work assiduously towards peace,progress and socioeconomic development of our dear state .
