Anambra 2025: Market Chairman Commends Governor Soludo For Fulfilling His Promises

The Chairman of Onitsha Industrial Iron Dealers Association, OIIDA, Bridgehead Market Onitsha, Nze Ikechukwu Okpara on Saturday commended Governor Charles Soludo for Fulfilling his promises he made to the Ndi Anambra.

“I heard all he said at Chuba Ikpeazu Stadium during the traders endorsement of his re-election bid and I believed him because he has and still fulfilling his earlier promises to Ndi Anambra. In my town Umunze, Umuchu, Fegge and other places, I saw what he is doing. He is trying and I believe that if re-elected, he will do more.

Nze Okpara who said this in his office at the market, emphasized that leadership is the provision of the basic amenities, electricity water, roads, pointing out that “we don’t ask you to share money to us.

“Every leadership without opposition would not achieve a lot and there is no way everybody will be pleased but the important thing is for the good deeds to surpass the bad ones.

“I explained to the traders that the stallage money paid by them is being utilized for the construction of roads and other infrastructural development because government is not traders who has shop but they develop the areas with the money generated from taxes and other levies.

On his achievements so far, he mentioned that he believes in human capital development than any other thing stating he has empowered some people based on the free will contributions by the traders.

“I dug pit for the toilet used by the traders and customers without collecting a thine from them because they contributed the money for the construction of the toilet

“I advice traders to support the governor for continuity because he has done what all can see, I don’t believe in hearsay but can feel his infrastructural development by myself which I believe others also witnessed , for instance in Okpoko, the price of land has skyrocketed, people park in to live there unlike previously.

“The security of our market has much improved as well as in my community, Umunze, Orumba LG and in other communities in the state.

The Chairman who was an elected disclosed that he has accomplished all his priorities and promises to the traders, even provided transformer for the market, noting that he don’t believe on how far but how well.

According to him,”One of my predecessors, Ichie Nestor Ezenwegbu disclosed to the traders that my name would be written on the marble in the market, that I have performed what none of them (the predecessors) couldn’t do in the last 30 years.

When contacted, Ichie Nestor Ezenwegbu commended Okpara, saying that he has performed well, he corroborated with Okpara that they couldn’t dig pit toilet because of some misunderstanding among some members in the market.

“I gives my support to him whenever he wants to do something which I know that will be beneficial to the traders because I stand for the betterment of the traders, the good of leadership is the support of your followers

Chief Ezenwegbu who is also one of the stakeholders in the market and at ASMATA, listed some of his achievements which were the registration of their union in Lagos, transporting their member union goods with his ware bill (His name, receipt and address) from Lagos till date, pointing out that his reason is to encourage the younger traders so as to grow, if not, the frustration and challenges in transporting goods might discourage them or liquidate their capitals.

The stakeholder also declared his support for Governor Charles Soludo second tenure, noting that the traders have the might more than any other association in the state, that since they have endorsed the governor, his election is undisputable.
