Labour Minister, Dr Chris Ngige, Senator Andy Uba, Tony Nwoye and other APC stakeholders in Anambra State on Friday sought the support of the Federal Government, led by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), to win the November 2021 governorship election in the state.

Speaking separately during a special stakeholders’ meeting held in Awka, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige; Senator Andy Uba; and the 2017 governorship candidate of the APC in Anambra State, Tony Nwoye, called for funding of the party in the state to enable it win the poll.

Stating that the party in the state would need Federal Government’s support, Ngige praised the members of the state working committee for their efforts at keeping the party alive in the state.

“Our party’s reward system is not commensurate with the efforts you are putting in. It is not only Anambra that is complaining. Some of us have been members of other ruling parties before and we knew how things were shared, but APC is not the same, but I urge you to be patient.

“I have heard what the speakers said. My ears are here to listen and we have heard. The government of Buhari has a lot of things for the people. There is a new wave of opinion that things must change,” Ngige said.

Uba and Nwoye both asked Ngige to raise the matter at the Federal Executive Council meeting.

The state party chairman, Basil Ejidike, complained that there was no steady source of revenue for the party’s daily activities and sustenance.

“A high-powered committee of committed elders has been set up to explore avenues of sustaining the party financially,” he said.
