The Chief Magistrates’ Court, Chediya GRA, Zaria, has fixed Feb. 16 to deliver judgment against four suspects who allegedly lured a lady seeking support from the Emir of Zazzau and committed adultery with her.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that five men, including a dismissed palace guard, had appeared before the Chief Magistrates’ Court in Zaria, Kaduna State, over alleged adultery and criminal conspiracy on Jan. 11.

The defendants are Ismaila Abubakar, Hussaini Abubakar, Kabiru Shuaibu, Nafiu Kabiru and Ibrahim Abdullahi.

The offences contravened Sections 59 and 368 of the Kaduna State Penal Code, 2017.

Testifying as defence witness number one, Hussain Abubakar, told the court that he is a car mechanic and was arrested by the police after closing from work on Jan. 11.

He said that he was taken to Zaria City Divisional Police Headquarters along side Kabiru Shuaibu (the 3rd defendant).

Abubakar added that it was at the divisional police headquarters that he saw an Islamic cleric and a lady, and was told of the offence allegedly committed by him.
