The Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, has reiterated his commitment to strengthening the healthcare sector by prioritising medical sciences in our educational policies. He reemphasised his commitments during the inauguration of Cerba Lancet Nigeria’s new Laboratory in Surulere, Lagos State. Alausa who was a former Minister of State for Health, disclosed that he plans on fostering collaboration between education and healthcare. This was disclosed in a post he shared on Saturday, November 30. The post reads: “I’m honored to be part of the inauguration of Cerba Lancet Nigeria’s new Laboratory in Surulere – a world-class, ISO accredited, 24-hour private pathology lab in Lagos. This state-of-the-art facility is a game-changer for Nigerians seeking healthcare. As it will provide timely, accurate diagnostics and expert pathology services to all. “During my tenure as Minister of State for Health and now in my role leading the Federal Ministry of Education, I remain steadfast in my commitment to strengthening the healthcare sector by prioritizing medical sciences in our educational policies. By fostering collaboration between education and healthcare, we aim to cultivate a skilled workforce ready to support innovative institutions like Cerba Lancet Nigeria and others. “I’d like to extend a special commendation to Dr. Olayemi Dawodu and her team for their visionary leadership in advancing diagnostic healthcare across Nigeria. I also challenge her to push the needle by partnering with Medical Schools and universities to offer residency programmes. Let’s work together to improve healthcare outcomes and advance medical research for a healthier Nigeria.”
