Akwaeke FC Bridge Head Market Onitsha wins Anambra Traders Football Competition

The Akwaeke FC club Bridge Head Market Onitsha, Anambra State has emerged victorious in the concluded Anambra State traders football competition.
The football tournaments and other indoor sporting competition was held on December 7,2024 at Awka City Stadium, Anambra State and sponsored by Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, the Executive Governor of Anambra State.
Presenting the trophy to the proprietor of Akwaeke FC, Hon. Chinedu Ezekwike who was flanked by the Special Adviser to Governor on trade and Market, Chief Sir. Everistus Ubah and State commissioner for finance, Mr. Izuchukwu Okafor, Professor Soludo extolled the Akwaeke FC for their victory as well as their proprietor Hon. Ezekwike prepared his team very well.
Soludo who was represented by his Chief of staff, Chief Sir. Ernest Ezeajughi emphasized that the competition was to unveil his more plans to the traders in the state in terms of sports and opportunity for the youth among the traders to exhibit their God’s giving talents in football.
He, however, lauded the doggedness of the winning team by defeating other Markets, expressing optimism that some of them would go far in their football careers and represent Nigeria in International football competition.
Ezeajughi enjoined the victorious team and other youth in the State to continue to support Soludo’s administration, remain thankful to him and disseminate information about his transformative program for the Ndi Anambra.
Similarly, the Special Adviser to the Governor on trade and Market, Chief Sir. Everistus Ubah added that Akwaeke FC deserved the victory, saying that they prepared very well ahead of the tournament.
He reminded the youth especially those who are still into apprenticeship that apart from the football tournament benefits, they would equally benefit from the ongoing 1 youth 2 skills empowerment in the State, urging them to reciprocate to Mr.Governor by ensuring that they propagate his developmental strides to the rural dwellers.
In his appreciation speech, the proprietor of Akwaeke FC poured accolades to Professor Charles Soludo for his initiative in uniting traders more through sports, describing the tournaments as an encouragement to Anambra youths and opportunity given to them to display their God’s giving talents.
Hon. Ezekwike popularly known as Akwaeke of Umuchu also extended his profound gratitude to the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Sir. Ernest Ezeajughi” Ikenga Awgbu” and Special Adviser to the Governor on trade and Market, Chief Sir. Everistus Ubah ” Obannabuenyi of Isuofia as well as State Commissioner for finance, Mr. Izuchukwu Okafor for being with him during the event.

In a special way, I want to thank Ora-eri Market who came second position and also the President General of Anambra State Amalgamated Traders Association (ASMATA), Chief Humphrey Anuna” Ajilija” Onwa ora-eri for accepting the defeat” Said Hon. Ezekwike.
