The Executive President of the Nibo Students Association (NISA) Federated, Hon. Rtr. Comr. Umeadi Isaac Chukwudum Makuochukwu, popularly known as Nze Nwachimelueze I Nibo, has pledged to be a unity bridge that turns passion to impact, starting from his community, Nibo, in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Chukwudum made the pledge during the First Nibo Students Association International Conference and the 2nd Interschool Quiz and Debate Competition, which took place at the Nibo Civic Centre.

The theme of the programme was “The Role of Students in Nation Building and Community Development.”

In his address, he said:

“We are agents of peace. We must say no to drug abuse and cultism in our schools. That is why we started this drug sensitization.”

“We are builders of education. This quiz and debate is to catch them young and build future leaders for Nibo, Anambra and Nigeria.”

“We are the unity bridge. This conference connects Nibo home and abroad for community development.”

He summarised the message in three lines: We are agents of peace, builders of education, and the unity bridge.

“My vision and goals for Nibo Students Association (NISA) Federated, and for Anambra State at large, is big and clear. I want to turn our passion into impact.”

He said his vision is to make NISA stand tall and be well known in the Nigerian Federation by creating more NISA branches in all universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education across the country.

He also wants to make NISA a strategic point where all students, postgraduate students, and graduates come together to foster growth and build a stronger, healthier, and smarter society.

“To make this happen, we will continue to promote unity, education, and community service for the progress of Nibo,” he said.

“My agenda as the President is to create more than 10 NISA branches in tertiary institutions before my tenure ends, and also to execute meaningful projects such as building a bus stop, and creating an avenue for Nibo students to have access to skill acquisition.”

“During my National Service, Delta State celebrated me as the Corper of the Year on 20th May, 2026, because of my service as CLO, Aniocha North LGA, Delta Corpers and Servicom CDS President.”

“I have contributed so much and I am still contributing both in Church and society. I believe that with adequate support, we will achieve many great things before next year’s NISA Federated Conference.”

“I have been working so hard to bridge the gap between the ruling class and the masses, which is my first mission as Con-Youth Coordinator, Anambra State, to drive state growth likewise in Nibo community.”

The keynote speaker, Dr. Onyiofor Uchenna, and the speaker, Dr. Kingsley Mbamalu, urged the students to take their studies seriously and warned them about role models.

In their words: “If you make me your role model, you are not serious! Look for people who have impacted the world. Go to the internet, do not go and waste time there. Search, I want to be like Bill Gates, I want to be like Donald Trump. But if you want to be like Facebook, do not drop out of school! First finish what you are doing.”

They reminded the students that the promotion of national unity and integration is important.

They added that the promotion of democratic values, good governance, education and literacy, as well as the promotion of peace and national security, are also keys to nation building.

A special book presentation from the keynote speaker to a student who was found reading before the commencement of the programme was one of the highlights of the event.

Award presentations, a dancing competition, and presentations by Delight Model Secondary School and Nneoma Secondary School, Nibo, added colour to the event.
