THE PETER OBI NIGERIA NEEDS — AND WHY 33 GOVERNORS MAY FEAR HIS PRESIDENCY!

IMG-20261101-WA0010

Nigeria needs leadership that prioritises accountability, transparency, competence, and the welfare of ordinary citizens. In my view, Peter Obi represents an opportunity for a new political direction that places the interests of Nigerians above personal and political interests.

The question we must ask is this: Why might some political leaders be uncomfortable with the possibility of Peter Obi becoming the President of Nigeria? Could it be because a government built on accountability, prudent management, and responsible leadership would challenge the existing political order?

YOUTHS MUST DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY!

Our youths must learn to look beyond political titles, family connections, and promises of free money. We must demand credible leadership and insist that public office serves the people, not a privileged few.

Consider the concerns surrounding the following political figures:

  1. HON. NYESOM WIKE

Allegations concerning a reported court case involving his son over an alleged ₦2 million fraud deserve public attention, but the facts must ultimately be established by the court.

Nigerians have every right to question the growing influence of political families and demand that political opportunities be based on merit, competence, and service rather than family connections.

Our young people should not be encouraged to see politics as a shortcut to wealth or an opportunity to enjoy government privileges without contributing to society.

  1. HON. DAVID UMAHI: WHAT ABOUT HIS SON’S LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMANSHIP?

The fact that David Umahi’s son occupies a local government chairmanship position raises important questions about political connections, merit, and equal opportunities for ordinary Nigerian youths.

At a time when millions of qualified young people are struggling to find opportunities, Nigerians deserve to know whether public offices are being distributed based on competence and genuine service or whether political family connections are becoming an advantage.

Government positions must never be treated as opportunities for easy money or family privileges. They should be platforms for accountability, development, and service to the people.

  1. GOVERNOR CHARLES SOLUDO: HIS DAUGHTER AND THE CITY BOYS MOVEMENT

The reported involvement of Governor Charles Soludo’s daughter in the City Boys movement also raises questions about the political participation of children of public officials.

Young Nigerians must understand the difference between participating in politics out of genuine conviction and becoming involved because of the perceived benefits and privileges associated with political power.

We must ask whether political movements are being embraced for genuine national development or whether some people see them as opportunities to access government benefits.

I believe political participation should be driven by conviction, principles, and service, not expectations of personal financial gain.

WHAT MAKES PETER OBI’S FAMILY DIFFERENT?

One point supporters of Peter Obi frequently highlight is that his children are not publicly known for seeking political appointments or using their father’s political influence to occupy government positions.

This presents an important contrast in the debate about family influence in Nigerian politics.

Peter Obi’s emphasis on prudent management, accountability, and responsible leadership deserves serious consideration. Nigerians should examine his public record alongside those of other political leaders and judge everyone by the same standards.

We challenge these leaders and other public officials to demonstrate their commitment to transparency. Nigerians deserve credible records, verifiable declarations, and answers to legitimate questions about public accountability.

Where credible allegations exist, the appropriate anti-corruption agencies, including the EFCC and ICPC, should investigate them impartially and professionally.

THE YOUTHS MUST TAKE BACK THEIR POLITICAL POWER!
